چکیده

The recent discovery that the prevention of lignin repolymerisation/condensation in lignocellulosic biomass pretreatment can both enhance bioconversion cellulose and quality obtained lignin, has brought a lignocellulose biorefinery closer to reality. In this work, development approach last advancements are reviewed. review reveals successful implementation for wide range substrates including softwood, hardwood, agricultural residues. As well, it is shown various technologies, steam, acid organosolv processes. Recent developments involve new greener additives which prevent repolymerisation, saccharification at industrially realistic conditions high-yield fermentation. addition, first applications these processes reviewed, showcasing its enhanced functionalisation use polymers, as well depolymerisation aromatic monomers. progresses bring prospect valorise all fractions biomass.

Inhibitory effect of lignin during cellulose bioconversion: the effect of lignin chemistry on non-productive enzyme adsorption.

The effect of lignin as an inhibitory biopolymer for the enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass was studied; specially addressing the role of lignin in non-productive enzyme adsorption. Botanical origin and biomass pre-treatment give rise to differences in lignin structure and the effect of these differences on enzyme binding and inhibition were elucidated. Lignin was isolated from ste...

A Review on The Bioconversion of Lignin to Microbial Lipid with Oleaginous Rhodococcus opacus

Rhodococcus opacus produces intracellular lipids from the biodegradation of lignocellulosic biomass. These lipids can be used to produce biofuels that could potentially replace petroleum-derived chemicals. Current studies are focusing on deconstructing lignin through efficient and cost-effective pretreatment methods and improving microbial lipid titers. R. opacus can reach high levels of oleagi...

BSA treatment to enhance enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose in lignin containing substrates.

Cellulase and bovine serum albumin (BSA) were added to Avicel cellulose and solids containing 56% cellulose and 28% lignin from dilute sulfuric acid pretreatment of corn stover. Little BSA was adsorbed on Avicel cellulose, while pretreated corn stover solids adsorbed considerable amounts of this protein. On the other hand, cellulase was highly adsorbed on both substrates. Adding a 1% concentrat...

Cellulose–Hemicellulose and Cellulose–Lignin Interactions during Fast Pyrolysis

Previously, the primary product distribution resulting from fast pyrolysis of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin was quantified. This study extends the analysis to the examinations of interactions between cellulose−hemicellulose and cellulose−lignin, which were determined by comparing the pyrolysis products from their native mixture, physical mixture, and superposition of individual component...
